Hepcinat Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It should be taken with food, preferably at a fixed time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
It has fewer side effects as compared to other similar medicines, like fatigue, headache, nausea, insomnia (difficulty sleeping) and anemia (low red blood cell count). Inform your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
Hepcinat Tablet works by preventing the HCV virus from multiplying in your body. It helps control the infection and makes the immune system work better. This lowers your chances of getting complications and improves your quality of life. This medicine is always taken in combination with other antiretroviral medicines. It is not a cure and should neither be used to prevent HCV infection. It is important that you take this medicine as prescribed, following the dosage recommended by your doctor. Taking all doses in the right amount at the right times greatly increases the effectiveness of the medicine.

Breast feeding

Hepcinat Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Hepcinat Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Hepcinat Tablet, when taken together with other medicines for the treatment of hepatitis c infection, may produce dizziness, blurred vision and this may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Hepcinat Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Hepcinat Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Limited information is available on use of Hepcinat Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Hepcinat Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Hepcinat Tablet is recommended.
